Reveal the flavor of the bean
At Essence of Coffee, we roast to highlight each coffee’s natural sweetness, balance, body and complexity. Origin, variety, altitude, climate and processing all help shape its character. Roast color alone tells only part of the story.
Tasting notes are not added flavors
Chocolate, caramel, fruit, nuts and floral notes describe flavors and aromas naturally found in coffee. We do not add those ingredients during roasting. As with wine, different people may notice different flavors in the same cup.
Understanding body
Body is how coffee feels in your mouth. A full-bodied coffee may feel rich, syrupy or buttery; a medium-bodied coffee balanced and smooth; a light-bodied coffee clean, crisp and delicate. Think about the feel you enjoy as well as the flavor.
Coffee is a journey
